In order to create an additional instrument for interaction with some of its most important partners, the IIB introduced the Observer Status. Under the IIB Observer Status Policy, the status provides a flexible mechanism for enhancing networking and regular contacts aimed at exploring cooperation opportunities in agreed areas, including co-financing of projects.
Observer Status with the IIB provides the following benefits:
- Participation in various activities, including sessions of the IIB Council, workshops, conferences and other events organised by the Bank, at the invitation of the Bank’s Board;
- Access, upon the Board’s decision, to IIB’s non-confidential documents, information materials and decisions made by IIB’s governing bodies.
At present, IIB’s Observers include the Vnesheconombank, the VTB Group, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), Bulgarian Development Bank, Russian Export Centre and the Republic of Belarus.
