IIB strengthens ties with Asian Development Bank
The delegation of the IIB participated in the activities in the frames of the 47th annual meeting of the Board management of the Asian Development Bank at the invitation of the Secretariat of the ADB, which was held on May 2−5 in Astana. The main keynote of the session, which gathered more than 3−5 thousand delegates from all the continents, was"The inclusive economy growth for the achievement of the Millennium development goals".
The representatives of the IIB were invited to the open session of the annual meeting on which the president of ADB Takehiko Nakao and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev made speeches. The IIB representatives visited a number of thematic conferences, seminars and round tables regarding the key aspects of the development of the global economy, financial markets, international investment cooperation and participated in panel discussions on the exchange of experience and the best practices of international financial organizations in the current conditions.
A series of bilateral meetings were held with the management of such institutions for development and organization as: IFC, NIB, CAF, DEG (Kfw Group), UNDP, OECD, Development Bank of Mongolia, Golomt Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, the representatives from the rating agencies of Moody’s, S&P etc. The prospects of establishing/developing cooperation in different spheres were discussed.
In the course of the negotiations with the representatives of ADB an agreement was reached concerning the issue of the IIB’s participation in the future annual sessions as an observer along with other leading international financial organizations. The prospects of possible financial cooperation on the Asian direction were also discussed.
