IIB takes part in the 3rd meeting of Development 20
On May 26 in Istanbul, Turkey, the third meeting of the heads of the development finance institutions of the G20 countries — the D20 (Development 20) — took place. The delegation of the International Investment Bank traditionally participated in the event.
The first meeting, organized under Vnesheconombank’s initiative, was held in Moscow in 2013. Then, the second one was arranged by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Italy’s Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) last July in Rome.
The main topic of this year’s D20 conference was «Infrastructure as a Long Term Tool for Sustainable and Comprehensive Growth». The event was co-organized by the Long-Term Investors Club (LTIC) and the Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB).
The heads of the G20 financial institutions approved a concluding declaration, which is traditionally going to be included in the consolidated report to the heads of state of this affluent international association.
The IIB delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with the representatives of IFIs, other financial institutions and Turkish banks, which expressed readiness to look for mutually beneficial areas for cooperation in the Bank’s member states.
Next year, the D20 meeting is going to be hosted by the People’s Republic of China, within the frame of its presidency in G20.
