Alan Thompson appointed as the Director of the Department for International Financial Integration (DIFI) of the Strategy Section of the International Investment Bank (IIB). He has a number of years of management experience with international organizations and was previously employed by the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce as Director for Russia.

A. Thompson’s area of responsibility will include drafting the core strategic priorities in the area of the IIB’s promotion and positioning, development of international banking programmes, promotion of the Bank’s further integration into the IFI community, the development of bilateral and multilateral partnerships. As the DIFI Director, A. Thompson will be responsible for the support and promotion of the IIB's relationships with government officials from member states and non-member countries, interaction with commercial and public bodies, business associations, scientific and educational centers, as well as national and international media relations.

Alan Thompson graduated from Leeds University, UK, where he specialized in Russian language studies, as well as the Faculty of Law, University of Leicester, UK. His professional experience includes more than 10 years in senior management positions with international organizations, and from 2012 - as Director for Russia with the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce.
