IIB – anchor investor in first Eurobond placement of Czech Energo-Pro
The International Investment Bank (IIB) acted jointly with the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) as anchor investors in a primary EUR 370 million Eurobond issue by Czech energy company Energo-Pro a.s.
The issue enjoyed strong demand on the part of international investors. Over 80 investors expressed their interest to participate in the book-building, and the issuance was oversubscribed by more than twice. The deal’s arrangers were JP Morgan and Citigroup.
Energo-Pro a.s. is a leading distribution company and electricity generator in the Central-East European region, providing services in such IIB member states as the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The issue proceeds will be allocated to improving the energy infrastructure of the Bank’s member states.
“I would like to note the integrated component related to the IIB’s participation as anchor investor in Energo-Pro’s Eurobond issue. The investments of the Bank, as the integrator of economic cooperation between member states, aim to develop and enhance the energy sector in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, while raising the standard of living and wellbeing of the population of these countries,” - noted Mr. Jozef Kollár, Deputy Chairman of the IIB Board, who supervises Treasury.
