IIB supports the expansion of Romania’s leading poultry producer
The International Investment Bank (IIB) will provide a loan to Aaylex group– the largest producer and exporter of poultry in Romania. The parties signed the corresponding agreement in the amount of about EUR 4.29 million for a period of 5 years.
Aaylex distributes its products under the CocoRico brand. IIB’s financing will be used for acquiring equipment and property assets from Romanian poultry farms Avicola Calarasi in order to increase its own production. Thus, the Bank will support consolidation of the agricultural sector in the country and future growth of one of its leading companies, including on international markets.
Vladimir Liventsev, Deputy Chairman of the IIB Board, responsible for loans and investments, said: “We are pleased to support the growth of yet another sector leader in one of our member countries. Aaylex has extensive market experience, upgraded production facilities, as well as highly diversified sales channels, and represents an ideal partner for the IIB.” Working with leading companies in its member states, in early April the IIB similarly took part in financing the international expansion of the Bulgarian pharmaceutical company Huvepharma.
The IIB has been consistently increasing investments in the Romanian economy and regularly presents its banking products and services to local companies. Taking into account the agreement with Aaylex, the total volume of the Bank’s signed loans in Romania since the beginning of IIB’s reform in 2012 currently exceeds EUR 50 million, with a promising pipeline. Last year, the Bank placed its debut bond issue on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in the amount of RON 111 million – in relation to this placement, the Romanian Stockbrokers’ Association awarded the IIB for its contribution to the development of the country’s corporate bonds market.
Aaylex group of companies (Romania) – one of the major producers and exporters of poultry in Romania (brand CocoRico). The Group implements a full cycle from the feed production and eggs incubation to finished products package, which is sold at the Romanian domestic market through own network of retail stores and is exported to the UK, France, Germany, Greece and other EU countries.
