IIB Took Part in the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank
On May 2−5 IIB participated for the first time in the events on the sidelines of the 46th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank following the invitation of the Bank’s Secretariat as a guest organization. The central ADB’s event engaged this year more than 4000 participants from around the Asia-Pacific region this year. The common topic for this year’s AM was «The Balanced Economic Growth».
IIB’s representatives took part in a range of thematic conferences, seminars and round tables dedicated to various aspects of financial, economical and investment spheres, IIB’s delegation also participated in several panel discussions on the exchange of experience and sharing best practices in activities of world financial institutions in modern conditions, in particular concerning such questions as mobilising financial resources to support SMEs and promote infrastructure projects; PPP; «green» practices and social responsibility of banks; risk management in development banks, etc.
An official congratulatory address on behalf of the IIB’s management was delivered to the recently elected President and Chairman of the Board of Governors of ADB Mr. Hirohiko Nakao; the prospects of potential upgrade of the IIB’s status to an observer one were a also discussed with the ADB’s representatives among other issues.
