Deputy Director of Legal Department


  • Ensure legal support for the activities of the Bank and monitor compliance with applicable laws;
  • Participation in planning, organization and implementation of legal support for business activities of the Bank, research of relevant precedents, presentation of appropriate solutions;
  • Project support and other legal activity within the loan and documentary portfolio, distressed assets, including legal opinion and advice on loan documentation, structuring of transactions, selecting and managing external legal counsels, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, handling signings and closings, as well as, assisting with all other legal aspects of project monitoring, assisting adjoined Departments of the Bank with all other legal issues;
  • Legal expertise of agreements and relations with correspondent banks, financial and other organizations and subjects of international law in the field of international cooperation, as well as administrative and maintenance contracts within daily operation;
  • Preparation and implementation of measures aimed at ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of the Bank;
  • Legal support and advice for corporate procedures of the Bank, monitor of compliance with applicable law, preparation of necessary materials;
  • Development, improvement and systematization of legal documents, preparation of internal regulatory documents, monitoring of compliance to applicable laws and regulations of agreements and other documents developed in or signed by the Bank;
  • Organization of interaction with external legal consultants;
  • Legal internal advice on application of provisions of international law, internal regulatory documents, legislation of the country of residence and other laws and regulations;
  • Follow up on current trends in the field of law in the area of international financial organizations, introducing applicable practices into the Bank's activities.

Requirements for candidates:

Education:

  • University degree in law, specialization in international law – preferred.

Work experience:

  • Work experience in a similar direction - at least 7 years;
  • Experience in managing full legal support of transactions to attract financing, investment and project financing, trade finance and other financial deals;
  • Working experience in conditions of crisis management;
  • Work experience in international organizations and / or international banks and / or development banks and / or commercial banks, including in the IIB member states and / or in the relevant direction in the relevant government institutions of the Bank's member states.

Professional knowledge, skills and competencies:

  • Knowledge in the field of international public, private, corporate, civil and financial law;
  • Skills of legal support and expertise of credit transactions, including restructuring and problem loans;
  • Experience in overall legal support of corporate and business activities of the organization;
  • Experience of interaction with sanctions institutions - desired;
  • Experience with OFAC licensing - desired;
  • Experience in developing regulatory documents, agreements and memorandums;
  • Advanced PC user (MS Office);
  • Advanced level of English language;
  • Second foreign language of the IIB member states would be an advantage.
